Not having $70 to spend on a pillow, I took a chance on this one when it was on sale. It's a decent pillow, especially for the price I paid. The memory foam center does give it more structure and support, but to a fault, which is my one complaint. Rather than having that delightful moment of sinking just the right amount into the pillow as I've experienced with my husband's nicer memory foam pillow (also firm), you sink through the gusset until you hit a hard core... and then you just stay there. Ultimately, the pillow did support my neck better, which is really important to me as I sleep on my side, and the gusseting made the pillow soft enough despite the unyielding core, so I give it 4 stars, though I'd have to rate it lower had I paid full price. One more note- it's extremely fluffy and wide, so while it is technically a standard size pillow, it will be a trial getting it into a narrower pillow case (the first case I tried was actually a king and it was too small- the length is normal, but the width is not).

I've used this pillow for a few months now.

It is a little oversized, as stated by other(s), but this is not a problem for me. It's actually been a benefit (see below).

It started out thick, fluffy, and heavy. Now, it's thin, hard, and heavy.

I had a pillow of the same basic design (soft filling zipped around a memory foam slab) for years. It was a great pillow that kept most of its thickness and fluffyness.

When I bought the pillow under review, I also bought a standard size pillow cover (like terrycloth on the outside but water proof). The benefit mentioned above is that the pillow's larger than both the cover and my pillowcase; so the cover and case squeeze a little bit of thickness back into the pillow.

I sure wish I could remember where I bought the old one.

Much too thick. Feel like I'm sitting up while trying to sleep. Good idea but needs some work. Does not fit in standard size case.

I was looking for an extra firm pillow when I ordered this. It is at the most firmer than soft. Otherwise it is OK.

This is a pretty nice pillow, however, it is not as it is described. I have been using memory foam pillows for about 7 years and I can say that this pillow does not provide extra support and is not extra firm. I sleep mostly on my side and originally purchased memory foam pillows based on a recommendation from a physical therapist after a bad neck injury from a car accident. I was looking for a pillow that is almost so firm its hard and was hoping this one would do the job. Unfortunately, this pillow is a bit of fluff with about 1" of memory foam in the middle. This would be a great item for someone that wants half memory foam, half regular pillow.
